Getting started
When should my child first see an orthodontist?
Around age 7. Most children won't need treatment yet, but an early check lets us spot problems while the jaw is still growing.
Do I need a referral from my dentist?
No. You can book a free consultation directly.
Am I too old for braces?
No. Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, and about a third of our patients are adults. Many choose clear aligners or ceramic braces.
Cost & benefits
How much do braces cost?
Most comprehensive treatment in Toronto costs between $5,500 and $8,000 CAD, depending on complexity and type. Your exact fee is confirmed at your free consultation, with interest-free plans from $89 a month.
Does my dental benefits plan cover orthodontics?
Many employer plans include an orthodontic lifetime maximum, often $1,500 to $3,000 per person. We check your coverage and submit claims directly to your insurer.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Interest-free monthly plans with a down payment from $500.
During treatment
Do braces hurt?
Teeth feel tender for 3–5 days after braces go on and after some adjustments. Soft foods and over-the-counter pain relief help. Aligners cause a similar mild pressure with each new tray.
What counts as an orthodontic emergency?
A poking wire, a loose bracket or a lost aligner. Call us and we'll usually see you within one business day. Cover a sharp wire with orthodontic wax in the meantime.
Retainers
How long do I wear retainers?
Full time for a few months, then at night indefinitely to keep teeth from shifting.
What if I lose my retainer?
Call us. Replacement retainers start at $250 per arch.
