Hip replacement went smoothly and I was walking the next day. Waiting room gets busy in the mornings.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see an orthopedic surgeon?
Most patients can book directly. Some HMO plans require a referral from your primary care doctor, and we can check this for you when you call.
Will I need surgery?
Most patients don't. More than half of our patients improve with physical therapy, injections, bracing or activity changes. We recommend surgery only when it is clearly the best option.
How quickly can I get an MRI?
Usually the same day or the next business day, in our on-site MRI suite. We check insurance pre-authorization for you.
How long is recovery after knee replacement?
Most people walk with a walker the same day, move to a cane within 2–3 weeks and return to most daily activities by 6–12 weeks. Full recovery takes up to a year.
Do you accept workers' compensation cases?
Yes. We treat Texas workers' compensation injuries and handle the paperwork with your employer's carrier, including DWC forms.
